MATERIALS AND MAINTENANCE
Arketicom carries out careful research on materials to always ensure the maximum resistance over time of each product. From technical fibers to flexible foams, all the materials chosen must be able to resist the aggression of light, saltiness and rain. The materials of the products made by Arketicom have excellent performance without sacrificing the aesthetic aspect. Each Arketicom product, from armchairs to cushions, from complements to accessories, is the result of a careful selection of materials to guarantee absolute quality. Below are the material datasheets and maintenance advice.
FILLERS
FAST DRY FOAM
FAST DRY FOAM is an innovative technology of polyurethanes with Hidro-Blast reticulation. Fast Dry open cell foam does not retain water, allowing it to pass through. The result is quick drying. Since it is an open cell foam, optimal drainage is thus obtained which favors air circulation. Fast Dry is a technical foam specifically designed for outdoor applications. Its characteristics therefore make it antimicrobial, preventing the growth of molds and fungi. The use of Fast Dry foam is the ideal alternative to outdoor upholstery, if a product that is easy to use, has minimal maintenance and is long-lasting is required.
Flex Foam is an innovative filler of expanded mousse in cubes of regular and calibrated foam. The all new padding is more stable than polystyrene beads while retaining the buoyancy characteristics. Cool even in summer, because with a very low thermal conductivity index, it has characteristics of impermeability and elastic response. It does not collapse (therefore there is no need for subsequent filling) and guarantees rapid evaporation. It does not retain dirt or dust and is completely inert (0% chlorine)
POLYSTYRENE BEADS
Micro beads of virgin closed cell expanded polystyrene and constant granulometry (diameter 5/6 mm) perfectly spherical, non-toxic, non-absorbent, rot-proof, free from chlorine fluorine carbides (CFC, HCFC and HFC) and devoid of nutritional values capable of supporting the growth of fungi and bacteria. Polystyrene is lighter than Flex Foam but over time it tends to reduce its volume making it necessary to refill the padding. It is a floating filler and does not retain dirt and oils.
Mixture of foams obtained from the recovery of water-foam and super-elastic polyurethane used in the production of mattresses and pillows. Extremely soft and comfortable, it is the ideal filler in closed and open (but protected) environments such as patios, terraces or pergolas. The seating comfort is elastic even if it lacks lift, so it is not suitable for filling armchairs. Instead, it is the ideal filler for cushion padding.
CROSS-LINKED POLYETHYLENE
Closed cell cross-linked polyethylene is a polymer with peculiar qualities. It is rot-proof, with very low hygroscopic absorption, light and with high resistance to aging and chemical inertia. Obtained by extrusion, it is subsequently processed in the UK to become the ideal padding for mattresses and floating furnishings.
3D FILL
The 3D fill padding combines the characteristics of the most technologically performing synthetic fibers. An unrivaled combination of elasticity, pressure distribution and ventilation. 3D fill offers you the highest level of comfort, the longest lasting choice for professional use and the most hygienic combination of padding. The 3D fill is hypoallergenic, free from dust, contaminants and completely non-toxic. Moisture and air flow freely through the open layers of the padding creating the best climate for relaxation and comfort. Like a cool breeze in a hot summer, the horizontal movement of the air together with the natural movement of the body will provide the most comfortable microclimate, leading to the most restful and relaxing conditions. the 3D fill is extraordinarily durable: we tested and measured a maximum thickness loss of 5% over 60,000 140kg compressions on the material. When it comes to ventilation, resilience, flexibility and durability, 3D Fill padding is unmatched.
